Rift was most major MMO release last year and they after a successful year of subscriptions, they have announced a limited Free 2 Play version called "Rift Lite". This version will feature unlimited play of the game but will limit your character upto level 20 only. This move is being done to give players a feel of this AAA MMORPG who normally think that F2P MMOs are as good as this game. Rift had successfully given WoW players a worthy alternative and this "Lite" version will also continue to populate their servers with more players.

Mario Warfare is a fan film coming soon from Beatdown Boogie Studios with very professional budget and choreography etc. The movie is currently in the making which combines sensibilities of modern warfare action with characters from Mario. Looks something really interesting to look forward to.

Hack, Slash, Loot is a minimalistic Dungeon Crawler. With using tiny pixelated visuals it lets you enjoy the core form of gaming without the extra essentialities of life. The game is of course a single player affair but offer thousands of items to loot, monster and auto-generated dungeons for repeated gaming fun. The battle is turn based as in classic style.

Xcom: Enemy unknown brings the beloved tactics back to the game. GameInformer is running a big coverage month on the game and part of it explains how the tactics really work. And as a fan of team based tactical games this excites me a lot. The game will have different type of units like Heavy weapon guy (supression fire / blow up buildings ), a sniper and an assault (run and gun) etc. You have to use their combined abilities to take down the enemies.

You can give order to heavy weapon guy to supress some enemies and while they are busy saving their ass behind some cover, you can flank them with assault girl from side. or for more difficult encounters where enemy are inside the building and there is no side window, or when your own heavy weapon guy is supressed by enemy fire then how you can use envronment to figure out any alternate way.. like a broken roof and send assault girl from there and once they get distracted, you can take heavy weapon guy out of cover to blow down the wall and then sniper can easily pick-off the hiding aliens.

Overall the game HUD and graphics look a lot better than what was initially shown, and I am really getting excited for this one. I am so glad this XCOM game is coming out this year and the FPS was delayed; as I would prefer such tactics over FPS action any day.

Ballistic is a highly polished twin stick shooter. The game allows standard gameplay of shooting and doging anything on screen but with beautiful graphics and particle effects. It provides pretty standard gameplay modes like infinite waves or time based waves, so good for only temporary time pass.
